Basketmouth - Nigeria
Comedy is just the truth couched in humour.
There is always a message in
our jokes. This is what Basketmouth, who has recently been rated the
second funniest comedian in the whole of the African continent, plays on.
As rewarding as comedy is for him, Basketmouth still has his eyes set on
increasing the latitude of his fame by establishing himself as a rap
artiste. The eternal theme for his shows is ‘Uncensored’.

Chibwe Katebe – Zambia
Chibwe is a Zambian stand-up comedian, who recently performed at the African Art Institute’s: ‘From Africa with Laugh’ during the 2010 FIFA World Cup hosted in South Africa. He was also the first finalist in the Mnet series - stand-up Zambia. Currently, Chibwe is the director of a stand-up comedy company called ‘Natuseke Comedy Xpress’ in Zambia, which comprises of comedians like Terry T and Victor KABOVA Chaushi. With his laid back, non-toxic, clean humour, he is said to be suitable for every age group. Chibwe has established himself as an authority and possibly the ultimate stand-up comedian in Zambia.

Marty Kintu – Kenya
Marty Kintu, has acted in several local and international Theatre, Film and TV productions including the seasoned USA series 24. Besides being a talented puppeteer involved with UNIMA puppetry productions across the world, Marty loves to make people laugh.
As a stand-up comic, Marty has shared the stage with most of South Africa’s top comedians as well as many international ones. He has played host at gigs and toured South Africa as well as graced the stages of ‘Rocking the Daisies’, ‘The Smirnoff Comedy Fest’ and ‘From Africa with Laughs’ among many others.

Edgar Langeveldt - Zimbabwe
Edgar Langeveldt studied law and politics before turning his skills to incisive observation and acting talent to social commentary as a stand-up comic. He is well known in Southern Africa.
A member of a minority that is caught between dominant racial groups, he uses his outsider’s view and humour as a camouflage to reveal contradiction, inequality and social injustice. He has the ability to create hilarious characters from all races and sections of society. Edgar has established the Zimbabwe comedy festival.

Tats Nkonzo - South Africa
Tats Nkonzo is the rising comedian blazing comedy clubs all over
Johannesburg. Firing up his audience with his unique brand of
observational humour, Tats is set to break out and establish himself as a
comic force to be reckoned with. With his arsenal of humour, intellect and
a guitar, Tats brings a flavor to stand up comedy that is unrivalled.
Tats Nkonzo has been performing in the Johannesburg comedy circuit. From
Wish to Gold Reef City, The Blues Room to Parker’s Comedy and Jive at
Monte Casino, he has shared stages with comedy giants like Eddie Eckstein,
Nik Rabinowitz, and David Kau. His speedy rise from amateur to
professional comedian is a sure sign of greater things to come.
